I'll overwhelm 'credible fighter' Paul - Joshua
Anthony Joshua is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-bout fight which will be shown in real-time on the streaming platform.
Briton Anthony Joshua said he will "stamp all over" the American and "overpower" his opponent as the combatants came face-to-face to publicize the upcoming boxing match.
Former twice world title holder Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a massive uneven pairing - at Miami's arena on 19 December.
Fighter's Mentality
"I will break his face and hurt his body. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35 years old, stated.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I'm going to seriously aim to cause him pain. That's my goal."
Respectful Interaction
Despite those words, a composed Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - normally famous for his showmanship - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.
Jake Paul rather attacked ex Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "ridiculous" after Ngannou turned down a fight offer.
Taking Aim at Fury
Joshua, meanwhile, targeted British rival Tyson Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a Paul win.
"[Paul] is better than Tyson Fury - he showed up," Joshua commented.
"I acknowledge that."
Serious Fighter
Despite declaring he will punish Paul, Joshua declined to comment unfavorably about his rival's fighting skills.
"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he stated.
Paul's Background
Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mostly fought mixed martial artists or declining opponents since turning professional.
He lost to Briton Fury in last year.
Commercial Attraction
However, the inexperienced fighter is still one of boxing's largest money-making draws, consistently making massive financial rewards.
Forecast and Confidence
The 28 year old anticipated a KO victory in rounds four or five and claimed he would prevent the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly in the works for 2026.
"It will be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul stated.
Size Disparity
As Joshua and Paul engaged in the customary confrontation, with their size difference on show, it drove home just how improbable this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the match is truly happening.
